The Environmental Studies Program in the College of Liberal Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse seeks qualified candidates for the position of Associate Lecturer. This is a full time (100%) academic year position beginning August 28, 2017.
Review of applications begins on January 20th, 2017.
Environmental Studies offers an interdisciplinary minor, which includes courses in the arts and humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. In our classes, we bring together students from majors across the university to explore environmental issues. The bluffs, wetlands, and farms of the La Crosse area provide a living laboratory for our class field trips and student projects.
Our new colleague will teach several sections of Introduction to Environmental Studies each semester, as well as upper level courses in environmental studies (four total sections per semester, two or three course preparations). Teaching opportunities will include the option to develop new special topics courses. Instructional Academic Staff at UWL are eligible for promotion, and the position includes service activities and professional development.
The Environmental Studies Program supports and values diversity in its staff and students. We therefore seek a candidate who shares our commitment to diversity and who will be a dedicated teacher, a collaborative colleague, and an effective mentor for students and staff with diverse backgrounds, preparation, and career goals.
The position will remain open until filled; evaluation of completed applications will begin January 20, 2017.
