The newly-formed Department of Environmental Studies and Science within the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences of Pace University invites applications for an anticipated full-time, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin September, 2015. The Department houses undergraduate and graduate programs in environmental studies, environmental science and environmental policy. The position is located on Pace University’s Pleasantville, NY campus, which is 40 miles north of New York City. Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in Environmental Studies or a related field, with a strong research agenda and teaching experience in environmental policy and governance (NGOs, municipalities, social movements). The Environmental Studies and Science Department seeks to expand its focus on environmental and sustainability issues facing urban metropolitan regions, such as green space, conservation, suburbanization, smart cities, energy, air, water, food, and transport. Applicants with professional experience in environmental policy or governance will receive particular attention. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university’s new Master’s in Environmental Policy program, other undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as introductory courses in Environmental Studies for majors and non-majors.
