JOB – Asst. Prof., Philosophy, Ball State U

Ball State University invites applications for a tenure-track junior faculty position in Philosophy. Competency in environmental philosophy preferred.

Ball State University, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies seeks a philosopher with a passion for innovative, learner-centered teaching who is pluralistic in methodologies or areas of study, or who is conversant in multiple traditions. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in philosophy prior to start date with specialization in comparative philosophy, metaphysics, continental philosophy, or area of study concerning an underrepresented population; evidence of research productivity; evidence of teaching effectiveness. Preferred qualifications: earned doctorate in philosophy at time of application; competency in one or more of the following—philosophy of law, philosophy of film, philosophy of literature, philosophy of sex and love, environmental philosophy, intersectionality, or aesthetics; demonstrated potential to excel in mentoring non-majority students, inclusive pedagogy, and diversity issues.
