Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota invites applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy beginning August 2013. AOS: open. Applicants should have an AOS or strong AOC in Social and Political Philosophy including philosophically important issues of diversity and social responsibility. Willingness to teach Philosophy of Law and/or Environmental Ethics. Competency in teaching introductory ethics, history of philosophy (Ancient or Modern) or logic is strongly encouraged. All members of the department teach in the college’s core curriculum including the first year program. The successful applicant will be expected to teach philosophy courses at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum. All members of the department are active in philosophical research. Openness to mentoring undergraduate research a positive. Teaching load: semester system 3/3. Summer teaching available. Usual advising, committee and non-teaching duties. No thesis supervision required. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in philosophy or closely related field by August 2013.
