Details: Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers, FL. Asst./Assoc. Prof., continuing multi-year appointment beginning August 2013. AOS: Environmental Philosophy and/or Feminist Philosophy and/or Ancient Philosophy. Will teach core courses in philosophy (e.g., Ancient, Logic, Major Figures) in an interdisciplinary and pluralistic B.A. program, as well as elective courses in candidate’s AOS and general education and service courses in the Philosophy of Human Communication, Philosophy Through Film, and Introduction to Philosophy. 3/3 load.
Successful candidate will have teaching competencies and research interests that apply Continental and/or historically grounded approaches. Broad teaching range and fluency in the history of philosophy a must. Will take on service and scholarly activities appropriate to rank. Ph.D. required (ABD considered if degree is expected by August 1, 2013.)
