The Program in Global & International Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, announces a new tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in global environment and law beginning in the 2013-14 academic year. Such a position will build on current strengths in environmental law, sustainable development, and climate change, but would ideally help further coordinate UCSB’s initiatives in environmental issues and contribute to interdisciplinary dialogue with colleagues throughout the University. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. at the time of appointment in the social sciences or humanities (including environmental ethics and philosophy, broadly conceived), and expertise in law is highly desirable. The Program is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
