Chapter proposals from authors outside the United States are sought for an edited volume on human-animal communication to be published by Routledge as part of the Research Series. Unlike the wealth of scholarly material in wildlife conservation and ethology, this volume introduces both lay and academic readers to studies of animal-human communication grounded in communication theories and methodologies. This book challenges the anthropocentrism of current human communication paradigms and expands the boundaries of interpersonal, intercultural, rhetorical, organizational and environmental communication. The editor (Dr. Emily Plec, Western Oregon University) welcomes submissions from any aspect of communication scholarship, so long as there is sustained consideration of animal-human communication.
Inquiries and submissions should be sent electronically (Word document preferred) to Emily Plec.
Deadline for submission: April 30, 2012
